EQM logo

The EQM logo is a certification mark that is registered with the UK Intellectual Property Office.

You will need to comply with all environmental legislation relevant to your business practices.

The application process

Step 1: Registration

Register your business online - the EQM team will check your details and will activate your account.

Step 2: Application

You will receive a confirmation e-mail to say that your account has been activated. You can then log in and start to complete your application for the award.

As you complete the application form online, there are guidance notes next to each question with examples from real-life award holders. Have a look at an overview of the questions and guidance notes (212KB)  PDF icon.

Step 3: Assessment

An assessment team will arrange a visit to your business to carry out the evaluation. Your application and the results of the assessment will be passed on to the independent award panel in order to be judged.

Step 4: Award

If you are successful, your business will receive a Certificate of Award from the Peak District National Park Authority. You can display this award to show your customers that you have been awarded the Peak District Environmental Quality Mark.

Step 5: Monitoring and renewal

For monitoring purposes, your business may receive a visit at short notice or with no notice. Checks will be made to ensure you are using the EQM logo correctly.

The Environmental Quality Mark award is valid for two years. At the end of two years, you will receive a visit to ensure your business continues to meet the EQM criteria and continues to comply with the regulations governing the use of EQM, and the award will be renewed.

The Peak District National Park Authority works to maintain the integrity of the award for the benefit of all award holders and customers.

Fee

There is an annual fee to take part in the Environmental Quality Mark scheme. The fee is used to cover the costs of the assessment and is no guarantee that you will receive the award. Please visit www.eqm.org.uk/peakdistrict for the current fees.
