Cycling

We have a great range of bikes to hire for the whole family, whatever your age or ability, including a powered all terrain wheelchair bike at Parsley Hay and electric bikes at Ashbourne and Parsley Hay cycle hire centres. Learn how to look after your bicycle, repair punctures, and more, with our bike maintenance classes. Book by phone.

Family activities

Looking for family-friendly things to do? Look out for our Family Play Wild and Explorers days as well as drop-in events at our visitor centres in the school holidays. We also cater for school visits in term time. Book online.

Access for All

Whatever your level of ability we have an event for you or maybe you want to be sure that everyone in your group or family is able to enjoy the best the National Park has to offer. Here you’ll find events especially suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs or trampers and walks of a shorter distance. We also understand that sometimes a little more help is needed. You can see information about our Miles without Stiles routes before you visit or find out about our Health Walks where you will be met by the same friendly faces each time. Book online for our accessible events or contact us using the above links to find out more.

Visit a visitor centre

You'll discover seasonal exhibitions, craft activities, local products and a wealth of information on tap from our friendly, knowledgeable staff. The photography gallery at Bakewell visitor centre is free to browse and regularly has guest exhibitors. Castleton visitor centre also houses the local museum. Derwent visitor centre is well placed for you to explore the historic dams and Edale visitor centre is a gateway to the moorlands and the Pennine Way. All our centres are free to enter and accessible.

Junior Rangers

If you are 11 to 18 years old and enjoy spending time outdoors doing practical tasks while learning new skills, then this could be for you. Junior Rangers work in groups alongside our rangers to help look after the special qualities of the Peak District National Park. Join in trail patrols, public events and conservation work. It is great experience to put on your CV.

Donations

Many of our events are free, although we have introduced standard charges for guided walks and some activities, but your donations are always welcome and appreciated. Every penny is used to help look after the Peak District National Park.
