Camping pods
Come and enjoy the camping pods at North Lees campsite.
Set at the fringe of the site, our pods are guaranteed to keep you warm and dry, without the hassle of carrying and putting up a tent. All of the pods are set within wooded areas (except the easy access pod) and three of them overlook a small stream.
Visit in winter and you might just have the site to yourself. Or make a date for spring when the woodland floor is covered with bluebells.
North Lees campsite is alive with birdsong whatever the season and also provides the perfect base for exploring the area around Stanage and North Lees.

Pod sizes and types
We have four standard pods and two family pods and one accessibility pod. The standard pods can accommodate a maximum of three adults or two adults and two small children/infants. The family pods are suitable for up to two adults and three children, or a maximum of four adults.
One of the family pods looks out over the camping field making it ideal for a family wanting to use a tent and a pod.
Our accessible pod, the easy access pod, has a height adjustable bed and an additional single mattress on the floor. This is suitable for visitors ranging from those who want the luxury of a mattress to people who use a wheelchair. This pod can accommodate up to three people.
Heating, lighting and the power supply
Each pod boasts two LED lights and a small oil-filled 4KW radiator. There is a single power point suitable for charging a phone, laptop or similar appliance. Please note there is a 10 amp trip on each pod which makes the supply unsuitable for kettles.
Minimum booking
There is a surcharge of £9 if you are only staying one night with us.
What you need to bring
Think of a pod as a replacement for your tent. You'll need to bring everything you would bring if you were camping, except for your tent!
Cooking
Cooking is not permitted inside the pod but is possible on the covered veranda provided the stove is raised off the ground. Gas lit barbecues in the designated areas are allowed, but open fires are not permitted.
Access, cars and car parking
The pods are ideal for backpackers, cyclists and people travelling without a car. However you may bring a car with you for a small additional cost. Please note that this will have to be parked in the designated parking areas which are a short distance (75m) from the pods (with the exception of the easy access pod where adjacent parking is available).
