Sustainability Appraisal Consultation

Issues and Options Sustainability Appraisal Consultation

A Sustainability Appraisal is a mandatory requirement for Development Plan Documents under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. The Sustainability Appraisal incorporates an environment assessment in accordance with the Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations 2004. The Sustainability Appraisal accompanies each formal stage of the plan-making process and is key component of the plan-making process.

We are consulting on the Issues and Options Sustainability Appraisal (Stage B), which supports the local plan Issues and Options report.

The consultation is taking place between 07/10/2024 and 29/11/2024.

The Issues and Options Sustainability Appraisal has assessed the alignment of the spatial objectives and policy issues and options in the Issues and Options Report against the Sustainability Appraisal Framework . The preparation of a Sustainability Appraisal is an irritative process, assessing policies as they are formulated.
